The Night for the Royal Poetries (2024)
For Khlui, Flute, Violin, Cello and Reciter
The Night for the Royal Poetries is the suite composed based on the royal poetries by King Vajiravudh consisting of Madanabadha and his own translation of Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. The composition was set for Khlui (Thai Flute), Flute, Violin, Cello and Reciter.
In each movement, the verses from the original poem are depicted into the music setted to paint each word into the music.
The Night for the Royal Poetries was commissioned by the Phyathai Palace Foundation for the 101st anniversary of the Phyathai Palace. The poetries were selected by Dr. Petchyupa Boonsirijarungrat.
